Design 2485 Stevens 59
This semi-production motoryacht was developed for Bill Stevens of Stevens Yachts. Stevens is best known for the venerable Stevens 47 sailboat, design #2390, with over 80 boats built to that design. The boat was introduced in 1984. The motoryacht was developed by Rod Stephens, Alan Gilbert (our future chief engineer in 1984) and Hank Uhle, our chief engineer in 1984.
Power is derived from twin DDA 8V-92TIB Johnson & Tower diesels producing 750 hp each for a top speed of 20 knots. The construction material is fiberglass. Its unusual to see a raised pilothouse in a boat of this length.
Here's a copy of the brochure. It also shows the layout. Please double click for zoom.
