Design 1651 Whimsie



It's just too bad we don't have images for every boat in the archives. This is a perfect example. This is just a nice looking boat. I just love these motorsailers with the broken sheer.

The boat was built by Morton Johnson of Bay Head, New Jersey. She was launched in 1962.

Here is the general arrangement plan.


Just look at that plan view. Looks quite a bit like a powerboat hull form. Power is derived from a single Lehman 96 hp 6-cylinder diesel. Cruising range under power is 600 nautical miles.
